jesus Messiah

“Come to me all of you who labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest. take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for i am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. for my yoke is easy and my burden in light.” Matthew 11:28-30

please allow me to introduce you to the greatest “social influencer” of all time:

he had no servants, yet they called him master.

he had no degree, yet they called him teacher.

he had no medicines, yet they called him healer.

he had no army, yet kings feared him.

he gave peace, yet received hate.

he offered eternal life, yet was put to death.

he committed no crime, yet they crucified him.

he won no military battles, yet he conquered the world.

he was buried in a tomb, yet he rose from the dead and lives today.

he is the Messiah he is the eternal Son, one in nature with the eternal Father and the eternal Spirit, the triune God.

he is the holy one who is called the son of god. luke 1:35

he is the savior, the messiah, the lord. luke 2:11.

he is the one that john the baptist was refering to when he said, “behold, the lamb of god that takes away the sin of the world” john 1:29

he told us that “i and the father are one”. john 10:30.

he is god almighty in the flesh.

he told us that “anyone who has seen me has seen the father”. john 14:9.

when the high priest ask jesus, “are you the messiah?”, jesus answered him, “i am” mark 14:61-62

his central message to the world is to “repent for the kindom of heaven draws near” Matthew 4:17

he is the one the prophet isaiah spoke about;

for to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. and he will be called wonderful counselor, mighty god, everlasting father, prince of peace. of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. he will reign on david's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. the zeal of the lord almighty will accomplish this. isaiah 9:6-7.

“Behold, The Man.”

He is the one that Pontius pilatus was refering to when he said, “behold, the man” john 19:5

He is the Creator and life giver as well as the sustainer of the universe and all who live in it.

in the beginning was the word, and the word was with god, and the word was god. he was with god in the beginning. through him all things were made, without him nothing was made that has been made. in him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. the word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. we have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only son, who came from the father, full of grace and truth. john 1:1-4, 14.

he told us that he has been give all authority in heaven and on earth. Matthew 28:18.

He is the virgin born Son of God and Son of Man, fully divine and fully human.

He is the one whose life on earth perfectly pleased God, and whose righteousness is given to all who by grace through faith become one with Him.

god made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of god. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21

He is the only acceptable sacrifice for sin that pleases God, and whose death, under divine judgment, paid in full the penalty for the sins of His people, providing for them forgiveness and eternal life with God in Heaven.

god the father, in giving testimony about his son jesus, call him god and lord.

about the son he says, “your throne, oh god, will last for ever and ever. therefore god, your god, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” He also says, “in the BEGINNING, lord, you laid the foundations of the earth and the heavens are the work of your hands.” hebrews 1:8-10.

god demonstrated his own love for us in this; while we were still sinners, christ died for us. romans 5:8

the last words he uttered on the cross before he died was: “it is finished” john 19:30

in the greek, those words are really just one word that means paid in full.

in other words, jesus’ death on the cross paid once and for all the sin debt that those who believe in him owe to god the father because of our sins against him.

He is alive, having been raised from the dead by the Father, validating His work of atonement, and providing resurrection for the sanctification and glorification of the elect to bring them safely into His heavenly presence.

this righteousness is only given through faith in jesus christ to all who believe. there is no other distinction. romans 3:22

He is at the Father’s throne interceding for all believers.

for there is one god and one mediator between god and mankind, the man christ jesus. 1 TIMOTHY 2:5.

He is God’s chosen Prophet, Priest, and King, proclaiming absolute truth, mediating for His church, and reigning over His kingdom forever.

He will certainly and suddenly return from heaven to rapture His church, unleash judgment on the wicked, bring promised salvation to the Jews and the nations, and establish His millennial reign on earth.

He will, after that earthly reign, destroy the universe, finally judge all sinners and send them to hell, then create the new heavens and the new earth where He will dwell forever with His saints in glory, love, and joy.

he told us that he is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the father except by him. john 14:6.

his time on the earth literally split time in half.

the years measured before him are called “BC”, (before Christ)

the years measured after him are called “ad”, (after death)

every time we say or write a date we are literally referencing off of his life.

just the mention of his name stirs something in our spirit!

so what about you? Who do you say that he is?

the bible says that he is king of kings and lord of lords. Revelation 19:16.

no other man in the history of the world has ever said these things.

he is either a lunatic and a liar,

or he is lord.

there have been many great men who have come and gone in the history of the world.

rich men. powerful men.

they all ended up in the same place. in the grave.

however, jesus is the only man in history who has overcome the power of death and the grave.

he rose from the dead!

will you take him at his word? john 4:50.

i say that he is jesus the messiah. The son of the living god.

he is the christ.

who, being in the very nature of god, did not consider equality with god something

to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very

nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. and being found in appearance as

a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross.

therefore, god exalted him to the highest place and gave him a name that is above

every name, that at the name of jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on the

earth, and every tongue acknowledge that jesus in christ the lord, to the glory of

god the father. PHIlippians 2:6-11

he is the only name under heaven in which mankind can be saved. Acts 4:12

i pray that god in heaven will reveal these things to you and that you will accept jesus’ invitation.

“repent and turn to god so that yoir sins may be wiped out.” Acts 3:19

“declare with your mouth that jesus is lord and believe in your heart that god raised him from the dead and you will be saved.” Roman’s 10:9-10

he himself said, “behold, i am coming soon” revelation 22:12

are you ready? i pray that you are..

many years ago when i was a young boy of just 12 years old, i was exposed to an album and later to a musical production that was my very first encounter with jesus christ. i listened to the album over and over and over again on my little plastic record player that was like a small suitcase that you could open to play records. a few years later, i was able to see the musical production on broadway in new york city..it totally overwhelmed my teenage mind.

To this day i listen to it and it still overwhelms me as i just marvell at how god used this to start my journy to one day become a follower of jesus.

there are many who think that this album is blasphemous and a complete insult to christ. it may be to them, but to me it is not. we can never be the judge of god and say where and how he will begin calling someone to his son. he sees the eternal picture, we do not!

the original album produced by andrew loyd webber and tim rice is available online. for more information on it click on the link below:

the show has really caused quite alot of conversation both for it and against it. while the the main theme of the story line is about the life and times of jesus from the biblical account, the writers and producers have taken some liberty in adding some non biblical story lines and NARRATIVES. non of them are insulting or slanderous, but some people have a problem with them. the creator of the show, Dallas Jenkins, says that even though these extras do not come out of the biblical text, that they are “PLAUSIBLE” and that they add to the overall ministry and message of jesus.

i agree with this point of view. the longer i live and reflect on my life and the life of others as well as some bible stories themselves i have come to understand that we can not judge what god is doing. he can use any person, and any circumstance to further his will..despite what we think from our viewpoint. we can not see the eternal picture. he can.

the apostle paul agrres with this. during his time he saw people doing things in the name of jesus that some did not agree with and he wrote: but what does it matter? the important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, that christ is preached. and because of this i rejoice. Yes i will continue to rejoice. phillipeans 1:18
